Reheating MELTZ on the Go
Obviously our sandwiches are best enjoyed in the store, as they were designed to be eaten after resting for approximately 2 minutes off the griddle. However, if you are eating outside MELTZ we want you to have the best experience possible. Fortunately our sandwiches retain their crispy texture for 15 to 20 minutes in the bag. Any longer than this and they will become soft, but not soggy. We have put a lot of thought into how best to recreate the in-store experience for you. Our foil bag is designed to keep your food warm and wick grease away. And what is totally cool is that you can cook your sandwich in this bag or on this bag and get the bread just as crisp as if it were served fresh. Plus you won’t dirty a dish! Who doesn’t like that?
Extreme list of options for re-heating:
Since we don’t know what kind of equipment or circumstances you and your sandwich will be in, here is our comprehensive list of possibilities for firing up your order (let us know if we are missing one).
Conventional oven: This is a great option if you are pulling your sandwich out of the refrigerator. Preheat to 350 degrees. Pull your sandwich out of the foil bag and place it on top of the bag. Cook for 10-12 minutes, flip sandwich (hey its hot) and cook an additional 10-12 minutes. Look for color, crispiness and oozing cheese. Common sense here guys. If you see black, its overdone. Pull it out and let it cool 2-3 minutes. Enjoy!
Convection Oven (has a fan which moves air around): This is a faster process than conventional ovens as the air circulates and heats food evenly and quickly so you only have to preheat to 325 degrees. Be sure to set the fan on to low. Follow above directions but only for 8-10 per side.
Toaster Oven: Follow the same directions as with the Conventional Oven.
Electric or Gas Stovetop: This is a great option for a sandwich that hasn’t been refrigerated yet but it works on cold ones too. Turn to med heat, preheat pan for 2 minutes. Place sandwich in its foil bag (yes, in the bag on the pan so as not to dirty your pan but with the bag open so as to allow steam to escape), cook for 5 minutes each side. Check your crispy level by putting your finger in bag and touching the bread. Flip again if not crispy enough for your liking. Please don’t burn yourself.
Microwave: If you should choose this method (which we do not recommend) because you are hasty, impatient or both, please understand that your sandwich will NOT be crispy. If the sandwich is still warm, heat for 30 seconds. If it is cold from the refrigerator, heat for 90 seconds on 50% power. Please make sure the sandwich is out of the foil bag! Microwave times may vary so use common sense!
